SMMT (Summit Therapeutics) was a return visit (a stock that had previously delivered strong results for Atlantic Trading members and earned a second look).
The core thesis was built around ivonescimab, Summit’s lead bispecific antibody developed in partnership with Akeso, Inc. In November 2025, the Phase III HARMONi trial published results showing a statistically significant improvement in overall survival for patients with EGFR-mutated advanced non-small cell lung cancer, a median OS of 16.8 months for ivonescimab plus chemotherapy versus 14.1 months for chemotherapy alone.
With over 40,000 patients already treated with ivonescimab across clinical and commercial settings in China, and a Truist analyst maintaining a Buy rating, the momentum behind the drug’s story remained intact. The combination of a proven partnership structure, continued positive clinical data, and a familiar name with a track record made SMMT a compelling re-entry candidate.
