Peter’s Trading Background

I first became interested in investing in May 2017, when I started buying Bitcoin as a way to build an additional source of income and work towards greater financial freedom. At the time, I was looking for a long-term opportunity that could help me achieve an earlier retirement, and that journey introduced me to the world of trading.

Towards the end of 2022, I expanded my focus beyond cryptocurrency and began investing in the stock market. After researching companies, I made my first investments in businesses such as NVIDIA and Amazon before later moving to Trading212, where I started exploring smaller growth companies and developing my own trading strategy. Like many new traders, my early experience wasn’t straightforward. I lost around 70% of my trading account during my first six months, which forced me to reassess my approach and focus on building a repeatable process rather than chasing quick gains.

My biggest breakthrough came when I realised my professional background could become my greatest advantage. As a Mental Health Nurse and Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, I already had a strong understanding of medical research, clinical studies, and healthcare. Instead of trying to trade every sector, I began specialising in biotech and pharmaceutical companies, where I could apply my existing knowledge to better understand clinical trials, drug development, and the potential impact of upcoming catalysts.

Today, I specialise in swing trading biotech and pharmaceutical stocks using a combination of fundamental and technical analysis. Every investment begins with researching the science behind a treatment, assessing clinical trial data, understanding the company behind it, and identifying potential catalysts before considering the technical setup. By focusing on an area where I have genuine expertise, I’ve developed a disciplined approach that has helped me remain consistently profitable for the past two years while outperforming the S&P 500 and Nasdaq over that period.

Outside of trading, my family is my biggest motivation, and I enjoy spending as much time with them as possible. I also enjoy writing music, playing multiple instruments, singing, and unwinding with late-night gaming after a busy day. At Atlantic Trading, I share my trading ideas, help members better understand biotech investing, and mentor traders looking to build a structured, research-driven approach to the markets.

    How we calculate win rates

We measure win rate using closed trades only, to reflect actual performance, in the past 12 months.

    A trade is classified as:

    • Win → profit after fees

    • Loss → negative result

    • Breakeven → no gain or loss, not included

    Formula

    Win rate % = Wins ÷ (Wins + Losses) × 100

    Example

    • Wins: 89

    • Losses: 11

    Win rate = 89 ÷ (89 + 11) × 100 = 89%

    What we include

    • All trades within the past 12 months from the most recent update

    • Fees and realistic execution

    • Consistent calculation across all our traders

    What we exclude

    • Open trades (trades that are still on-going)

    • Partial updates or scaling entries

    Important

Win rate alone does not define performance.

For example, a trader with a lower win rate can outperform if their winning trades are larger than their losses.

Please remember current performance does not predict or guarantee future performance. You may loose money by following our traders and trading is still very risky.
